Info: There will be food booths, cultural performances, martial arts, live bands, and much more! The Grand Parade will be held on April 18, beginning at City Hall and concluding in Japantown. Street Meal
Date: Saturday at the end of Spring Break, 04/10/2010

Info: We need 15 people to volunteer. Primary duties will include food preparation, meal serving, and clean up. In addition you are invited to help pass out tickets, greet guests before the meal, wait on tables with water or punch, and to mingle with them during the meal. Volunteers will be providing a much needed service to our guests, most of whom are either unemployed, underemployed, or living on small pensions. Parking is available in the underground garage off Channing Way but be sure to obtain a parking sticker from the lead cook or you will be ticketed.

Holiday Caroling on Lake Merritt

Time: Tours start from 4pm, 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm
Location: Lake Merritt Boating Center inside Lakeside Park - 568 Bellevue Avenue, Oakland, CA 94610
Info: Bring your caroling voice, song sheets will be provided. Water Sleigh $5 per person. Enjoy a unique view of Oakland as your Water Sleigh takes you on a voyage around Lake Merritt. Tours glide past the 18th Street fountain, through Christmas Cove, returning to the Boating Center where complimentary cookies & hot cider await you.
10th Annual Oakland Children's Holiday Parade

Info: It's almost that snowy time of the year again - CHRISTMAS!!! - And that means the Oakland Holiday Parade is coming to Oakland!!!

- This parade is one of the most premier children’s parades in the whole country. The parade will be televised throughout North America on PBS stations and in the San Francisco Bay Area on KTVU-FOX 2, KICU – Action 36, KQED-PBS, KTEH-PBS, KCSM-PBS, Comcast Cable and Peralta TV.
- Downtown Oakland will be hosting: Gigantic Children's Character Balloons, Creative and Colorful Floats, Dancing and Singing Marching Bands, Special Float-Mobiles, Santa Claus, and Much More!!!
- (This year's program will be edited, not to exceed one hour, and will be available to your station for broadcast by December 18, 2009.)
Oakland High Donations - Canned Food and Clothing
